Press Release: The Catlin Art Prize 2012

The Catlin Art Prize 2012 featuring 10 of the UK's most exciting new graduate artists opens at Londonewcastle Project Space

Opening: Thursday 3rd May 6:00pm – 9:00pm

London, UK – The Catlin Art Prize 2012, now in its 6th year, presents the most promising art graduates in the UK one year on from their degree shows. Curated by Justin Hammond, this year’s exhibition will be held at the Londonewcastle Project Space, London, 3rd– 25th May 2012.

The Catlin Prize 2012 finalists are: Greta Alfaro, Gabriella Boyd, Poppy Bisdee, Jonny Briggs, Max Dovey, Tom Howse, Ali Kazim, Adeline de Monseignat, Soheila Sokhanvari and Julia Vogl. Working across painting, sculpture, photography, installation and film, each has been asked to demonstrate their progress by creating a brand new collection.

A panel of judges will award one artist with a prize of £5000 at a private ceremony on 16th May.

For the first time the general public will have the opportunity to take part in the Visitor Vote and pick their favourite artist in the exhibition. Votes can be cast via Twitter, Facebook and a ballot box at the venue. The winner of the Visitor Vote will be awarded £2000 on 16th May.

17 October 2012: Firmware update for Sony NEX 7 v1.01

Sony NEX firmware update provides the following;

  • Addition of capability to enable or disable the MOVIE button
  • Addition of exposure settings of bracket shooting (three frames /1.0EV,2.0EV, 3.0EV)
  • Improvement of response for showing auto review image.
  • Improvement of image quality when using a wide angle lens
  • Improvement of indication when setting “Flexible Spot”.
